01. Scope and contact
This policy covers the Flavor Quest — World Kitchen mobile game (iOS and Android), developed by Erkan Giris, and the playflavorquest.com website. Erkan Giris is the data controller for the processing of personal data.
The game doesn't create accounts; it never asks for a name, email, phone number or password. The backup that works with the Apple or Google account on your device is not a separate Flavor Quest account.
For privacy questions and data requests: info@playflavorquest.com. For help with the game, see the Support page.
02. Information we use
Having no accounts doesn't mean no data is processed. The game uses the following:
Your game save
Your level progress, stars, gold balance, boosters, lives, favorite recipes, chosen avatar, daily calendar and tasks. To help with support questions, a short log of your last 200 gold transactions and the transaction IDs of completed purchases are also saved. Sound, music, vibration, notification and language preferences stay on your device only.
In-game analytics
Sessions and return days; level starts, wins and losses (stars, moves left, how many boosters were used, whether moves or time ran out); leaving a level; extra-move offers; booster use; store purchases; gold transactions; rewarded ad events. If the game hits an error, up to 10 error reports per session are sent.
Device and ad data
The analytics and ad services may process your device model, operating system, language, app version, app-specific identifiers, IP address and approximate location derived from it (country or city level), as well as ad impressions and clicks.
Purchases
Payment is made through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see payment details such as your card number or address. The store only sends us the product and transaction IDs, used to deliver each purchase exactly once. No real payment is taken in the beta.
Your support messages: If you email us, we process your email address, your message, any screenshots you attach and any device or game details you share. We only receive these if you send them.
Notifications: When you finish your first recipe, the game asks for permission to send notifications. If you allow it, local reminders are scheduled on your device for when your lives are full, when Today's Menu is ready and when you haven't played for a few days. They stay on your device; no data is sent to any server for notifications. You can turn them off with the Notifications switch in the game's Settings or in your phone's settings.
The game doesn't access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or GPS location. App-specific identifiers don't identify you by name, but they aren't anonymous on their own either, which is why we describe them here.
03. Why we use information
- To run the game, keep your progress and preferences, and restore your backup.
- To deliver what you buy and prevent the same purchase from counting twice.
- To tune level difficulty, see where players get stuck, and find and fix bugs.
- To show the rewarded ads you choose to watch, give the reward, and prevent ad fraud.
- To answer support questions and handle privacy requests.
- To meet legal obligations.
Depending on the activity, data is processed on the legal basis of providing the service (performance of a contract), legitimate interest, legal obligation or, where required, your explicit consent. Where consent is needed (for example personalized ads in Europe) we ask for it separately; playing the game doesn't mean you've given that consent.
We don't sell your data, and we don't combine game data with data from other sources. Google's processing for advertising is described below, in section 04.
04. Service providers and sharing
Some features of the game work with the services below. They may process data on their own servers, including outside Turkey. International transfers follow the service's commitments and applicable law (KVKK, GDPR). We choose these services from providers that offer protection equal or equivalent to the protection described in this policy and have their own data processing and privacy commitments. We don't share data with anyone else; data may only be shared with competent authorities where legally required.
-
GameAnalytics · Game analytics
Processes the in-game analytics events, device information and error reports described above to improve the game and balance levels. Advertising ID collection (IDFA on iPhone, advertising ID on Android) is off. On iPhone, technical identifiers such as the app-specific vendor ID (IDFV) may be used. This setting doesn't separately turn off AdMob's processing.
-
Google AdMob and UMP · Rewarded ads
Shows a video only when you tap "Watch" for a reward: extra moves, an extra life, double gold or a calendar reward, a knife when you're stuck. There are no banners or interrupting ads, and daily views are limited. Google may process your IP address, approximate location, device information, app identifiers and ad interactions to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. On iPhone there's no cross-app tracking prompt, so the IDFA can't be used. On Android, the advertising ID may be used according to your device's ad settings. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent window is shown before ads.
-
Apple App Store and Google Play · Purchases
The store handles payment, billing and refunds for in-app purchases. Your payment details stay with the store; we receive the product and transaction IDs.
-
Apple iCloud and Android backup · Progress backup
On iPhone and iPad, if iCloud is on, your game save is written to the iCloud storage of the Apple account on your phone. On Android, the system's automatic backup saves it to your Google account according to your device settings. These backups live in your account; we can't read them and never get your passwords. You can turn them off or delete them in your settings.
05. Retention and security
Flavor Quest has no servers of its own; we don't store your game save. It stays on your device until the app data is deleted. Deleting the game doesn't delete the cloud backup: if you reinstall with the same account, your progress may come back. The cloud copy depends on your Apple or Google account's backup settings.
Analytics and ad data processed by GameAnalytics and Google are subject to those services' retention and deletion rules. Support emails are kept as long as needed to resolve and follow up on the request, then deleted.
Data travels to service providers over encrypted connections and access to it is limited. Still, absolute security can't be guaranteed for transmission over the internet or storage on a device.
06. Your choices and rights
- Ad choices: If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you can change your consent any time in the game under Settings → Help & Info → Ad Privacy Options. Anywhere, you can turn off ad personalization in your device's ad settings or reset your advertising ID on Android. Watching ads is never required; the whole game can be played without them.
- Game save and backup: Uninstall the app to delete the save on your device, and delete the cloud copy in your iCloud or Google backup settings. This permanently erases your progress and in-game items. Deleting the game doesn't automatically delete data the analytics and ad services have already received.
- Your legal rights: Under Article 11 of Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and, where applicable, the GDPR, you have the right to learn whether your data is processed, request information about it, know the third parties it's transferred to, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to processing, withdraw your consent and claim compensation if you've suffered damage. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Board or the data protection authority in your country.
Send requests to info@playflavorquest.com with the subject "Flavor Quest — Privacy request". We'll reply within 30 days at the latest. Since there's no account system, we may ask for limited extra details, such as the game version and your device, to match your request to the right save. Never send passwords, ID documents or card details.
07. Children's privacy
Flavor Quest is a puzzle game for a general audience and isn't designed for children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. Since there's no sign-up, nobody is asked for a name or contact details, but the analytics and ad services may process the technical data described above.
If you're a parent or guardian and believe data about your child has been processed, write to info@playflavorquest.com; we'll look into it and take the steps needed to delete the data. Your device's parental controls and the store's age settings can also help.
08. The promotional and support website
playflavorquest.com has no accounts, forms, tracking that would require a cookie notice, visitor analytics or ad code. The little matching demo on the home page runs entirely in your browser; the result isn't sent anywhere.
The hosting service that serves the site may keep standard access logs, such as IP address, request time and browser information, to deliver pages and keep them secure. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address. When you follow links to TestFlight, the App Store or Google Play, that service's privacy policy applies.
09. Changes to this policy
If we add a new feature or service to the game (for example account sign-in or a new type of ad), we'll update this text and the date at the top. We'll point out any significant change at the top of the page.
If you have questions about this policy, write to info@playflavorquest.com.
